CÂNCER DE MAMA EM HOMENS: EXPERIÊNCIA DO HOSPITAL SÃO MARCOS(1986-1995)

Os autores realizaram um levantamento estatístico sobre a incidência de câncer de mama
masculina nos últimos 10 anos no Hospital São Marcos de Teresina - PI. A idade média dos
pacientes diagnosticados era de 62,2 anos, sendo que a maioria dos casos encontrava-se em
estádios avançados. O tratamento ministrado foi, em linhas gerais, o mesmo para o câncer de
mama feminina. Neste trabalho, ressalta-se a importância de se pensar, desde logo, na
possibilidade de câncer nas lesões de mama masculina, a fim de se conseguir um diagnóstico
mais precоce.
