Abstract

The phyllodes tumor is the most common cause of increasing in the volume of
one of the breasts by tumoral mass in female teenagers, being, however, more frequent
between the fifth and seventh decades of life. Most of the times it's a benign tumor (the
malignant form is rare, according to the literature), but with high rates of local recurrence.
The surgical treatment can vary from a standard excision to a radical mastectomy. The
surgeries performed in two patients with phyllodes tumor of the breast, 15 and 13 yearold, treated in a multidisciplinary way by the Ginecology and Plastic Surgery
Departaments of the Universidade Federal de São Paulo - Escola Paulista de Medicina
with different surgical aproaches will be described. Satisfactory results were reached
through the oncologic and aesthetic view, as for the medicai team evaluation and for
the patients. The multidisciplinary set up of the incisions allowed a better access, making easier the tumoral ressection and allowing smaller aesthetic sequelae. The multidisciplinary integration was a determinant factor for the success of the treatment
