Abstract

This is a prospective study thatintends to demonstra te the va/ue ofpresurgicat localiza tion
of perforating arteries of the rectus abdominis muscie in patients who will go through breast
reconstruction with TRAM. Dopplercolour ultrasound study was performed before the surgery
and the authors tried to determine the advantages of this procedure. It proved to be a nonin vasive and accurate method to point out important vessels during the surgery, allowing their
preservation and maintaining the availability ofthe fíap.
